DAD, GREETINGS FROM NEW ORLEANS! WE'VE BEEN IN LAFOURCHE PARISH ALL WEEK AT PETE'S GRANDAD'S PLACE ON THE BAYOU. THE GRAVEYARD IS UNDER WATER AND YOU CAN JUST BARELY SEE THE CROSSES ATOP THE TOMBS. SATURDAY NIGHT WE WENT TO A DANCE CALLED A FAIS-DO-DO. PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE COMES OUT TO PARTY - NEW MOMS, SURLY TEENS, GREAT-GRANDADS - AND THEY ALL DANCE PARTNER STYLE. IT'S JUST ABOUT THE WHOLESOMEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN. C U SOON. FRANKIE

Who the hell would want to spend any time in New Orleans. Nothing but moldy walls and its now Chocolate City. Ask the mayor.
RESPONSE: I normally don't respond to such crap. This is an art project, not a forum for expressing your poorly informed/lame opinions. New Orleans has its share of problems right now and it doesn't help to be kicked while its down. -JL

I agree with the author (JL) I was/am very sadened to see a fellow U.S. city in such turmoil. I was hoping to see New Orleans the way it was and am very upset to know that I never will. It is very hard not to point fingers at the white house for letting such devistation occur. Beautiful, quirky and fun art! kudos!
