Hey Jim, Greetings from New Orleans, Whoever said you can’t build a city around a donut shop never visited this town. I’m sitting at Café Du Monde where all the waitresses are Vietnamese and all the fried dough is served with a quarter pound of fine sugar. The fundraiser at Arnaud’s was great.. Cheney dropped in to say a few words and 1.2 million was raised in two hours. Not too shabby. I’d say the outlook for our 2006 La. candidates is excellent. Just hope we can keep the war on page 15 for a while. See ya in D.C. , Ken

I'v been gone from NO for 29 years after a 1 year tour there. I've spent the majority of that time wondering how I could have left. Your photos are wonderful. I hope the people of NO, who have fled this storm, can bring the essence of NO to the rest of the country. We need them and welcome them to our community (Milwaukee).

Thanks so much for an excellent pictorial tour of our beloved New Orleans. May She rise from the floodwaters and live the good life with renewed vigor and the love of life that has been her signature from the beginning.
